-The well-known chef, who has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants, will prepare different recipes in the Magic Costa Blanca hotel accommodations.
-The aim is to upgrade the skills and service of the kitchen staff in order to expand and personalise some of the recipes of restaurants and buffets in Spain.
Spanish and Costa Blanca accommodations, including the Magic Costa Blanca Hotels & Resorts group, continue to innovate in order to adapt their hotels and experiences to the preferences of their visitors.
Among the total number of tourists who visit cities such as Benidorm each year, the British market continues being essential, standing for almost a third of the total number of travellers. For this reason, hoteliers are looking for new actions to improve the experience of UK tourists.
On this matter, Magic Costa Blanca, a Spanish hotel company based in Benidorm, is carrying out actions such as training sessions among its staff to expand the gastronomic options in its restaurants and buffets. From 23rd to 30th August, Bart Van der Lee, a well-known chef from the UK, will be in the Costa Blanca in order to give different masterclasses to kitchen staff with the aim of improving training and service, especially for customers from the UK, as well as expanding the range of dishes and recipes of the different 'Magic Costa Blanca' accommodations in Spain.
Tradition and modernity, to delight British tourists in Spain
Chef Bart is an influencer and recognised haute cuisine chef who has been working in various Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. He currently offers online masterclasses, works as a private chef and was a finalist on BBC1's popular 'Master Chef Pro' UK 2020 programme.
The chef, through three days of training, taking place at the Magic Natura Resort (4 stars) and Villa Venecia Hotel Boutique (5 stars) , will create different recipes and dishes based on British culture and some of them will be incorporated into the culinary offer hotels and resorts. Among the proposals, there will be live cooking demonstrations with typical dishes with a modern twist such as fish and chips, Sausage and mashed potatoes with Pedro Ximénez sauce, Roast Beef with onion sauce or sirloin Wellington and other more exclusive options aimed at hotels in the 'All Exclusive' hotel concept such as poached lobster with champagne sauce or roast lamb with port sauce. Bart will also offer tips on British desserts and sweets to the hotel chain's staff; masterclasses that will be recorded on video for all Magic Costa Blanca employees to access.
All the dishes have been prepared following a combination of tradition and innovation, incorporating top quality products such as port sauce, Bordeaux wine and vanilla beans into representative sweet and savoury recipes.
Gastronomy, a key factor among UK travellers
For Javier García, vice president of Magic Costa Blanca, "it is essential to continue offering visitors, both national and international, new proposals that enhance their holiday experience, while providing our team with more skills and techniques that improve their careers.
Food and beverage is a fundamental value when it comes to choosing a destination and, as well as continuing to offer typical dishes of our Mediterranean cuisine, we believe it is essential to expand our offer both in restaurants and buffets, with products and cuisine with influences and to British´s customers taste, a very important market for the Costa Blanca.
We will continue to keep working on this type of collaborations in order to expand the knowledge of our team and the recipes of our hotels and resorts with typical products from our area, without forgetting avant-garde cuisines such as Asian, specialities such as Italian cuisine or expanding our offer of premium cocktails".
